There are many different opportunities to volunteer with the Lemont Public Library. To inquire about volunteer opportunities contact the Teen Services Librarian, Megan Greenback, at mgreenback@lemontlibrary.org.

If none of these opportunities sounds quite like what you are looking for, try Volunteer Match to find a volunteer opportunity nearby that meets your interests.

Summer Reading Volunteers

The Summer Reading Volunteer meeting is on Wednesday, May 17th, 2017 at 6:00 PM.
For students in grade sixth through twelfth, we have an excellent opportunity for you to earn services hours for school or church or to just feel good volunteering. This year’s theme “Reading By Design” offers a ton of great programming and you can help make it happen.  There will be volunteer teams with opportunities in crafting, storytime backup, drama, hosting, and more! This organizational meeting will allow you to sign up for the volunteering you are most proficient in. Volunteer opportunities are on a first come, first serve basis.

Teen Action Group

Many different organizations count membership and participation in the Teen Action Group as volunteer hours. TAG members complete community service projects and can influence the library’s collection and programs!  Inquire with your organization to make sure that TAG membership fulfills their volunteer requirements.

Check the Calendar of Events to find out about the next TAG meeting!

Library Volunteer

We can always use help with programs and keeping the library tidy. Inquire about volunteer hours with the library and we will find something for you to help with! Opportunities include help with storytimes, help with other library programming, shelf-reading, etc.
