Of Triton Review
By: Ann Baillie
I hope you have given the warm weather a warm welcome. We have suffered terrible snowstorms, an unusually cold spring, and rains so strong they took out electricity. Now, finally, there is the summer weather we have been waiting for. Nice, hot, exciting, summer weather. Luckily, there is a book that matches the weather – Of Triton by Anna Banks.
Of Triton is the sequel to Of Poseidon. For this reason I will not give a summary of the book, just to avoid spoilers. If, however, you have never read Of Poseidon, do not fret – I myself had never read book 1, and I still found book 2 fun and easy to follow. Banks does an excellent job of catching the reader up to speed about the characters, and the rules of their world. For yes, this is technically a fantasy romance.
Now before you roll your eyes and say, “Been there, done that, moved on”, this is not a typically teen fantasy romance. This book is actually fairly well written. The plot line moves quickly, and is filled with fun twists and turns that are not predictable. The characters are well developed – especially the main couple – and the settings of both the human world and the fantasy world are well described. Banks has created a fun story. This book is not to be missed.
